Our Story

Built in Michigan, for Michigan.

KEYS Food Service is Michigan's most trusted food service authority — running entire programs for schools, camps, and institutions for more than a decade.

The Mission

Good food is a baseline, not a benefit.

Every child deserves a proper meal — hot, hearty, made with care. Every institution deserves a partner who shows up, runs the kitchen, and handles the paperwork. That's it. That's the company.

We're not a delivery service. We're not a caterer who took on schools as a side hustle. KEYS is a full-service food service authority — the operational backbone behind the meal, from procurement through plate.

What We Stand For

Four principles, every plate.

01

Hot, every day

Cooked or assembled daily, on-site or at one of our county-licensed commissaries. Quality ingredients, hands-on prep, licensed kitchens.

02

Compliance is the floor

Full USDA (National School Lunch Program) management — nutrition, eligibility, civil rights, and reporting handled in-house.

03

Inclusive by design

Halal-approved sourcing, vegetarian, and allergen-aware menus aren't add-ons — they're how every menu is built.

04

Rooted local

Michigan distributors, Michigan bakers, Michigan dairies. Local sourcing keeps the supply chain short and dollars home.

Three Commissary Kitchens

The kitchens behind 7,000 daily meals.

Each county-licensed and ServSafe-certified — anchoring our delivery model and supporting on-site partners across the state.

The scale behind the standard.

Hot entrées and sides, prepared and packed at three county-licensed commissaries before the morning routes roll out. Some kitchens cook more from the line, others lean on assembly — every site is held to the same compliance, safety, and labeling standards.
